Days 1, 2 and 3
At your arrival, after meeting our staff, we suggest you a short visit to the ancient Siponto Basilica with its spectacular 3D installation and a stroll in the center and along the seafront of the city of Manfredonia, whose castle hosts the National Museum with important archaeoligical Pre-Roman finds.
The bicycle adventure starts the day after with a short but intense climb to Monte Sant’Angelo. After having trained our legs, we will spend our time visiting the Rione Munno and the grotto of Saint Michael, the shrine from which the longobard cult of the warrior-saint spred throughout the world.
The day after you will follow the switchbacks all downhill from Monte Sant’Angelo to Mattinata, where you can stop admiring the view to of the Gulf of Manfredonia and of the drystone walls terraces. In Mattinata you will immerse yourself in the olive trees plain, which hosts some of the most monumental trees in Apulia, and then rided all along the panoramic seaside road to Vieste, with breathtaking views.

Days 3 and 4
The fourth day of the journey is the more challening and, maybe, the beautiful one. You will ride into the hearth of the mountain. The first part of the day is a constant uphill until 800 masl, through the Umbra Forest (UNESCO Biosphere MAB) with its monumental mediterranean beech, where you can take a round tour and enjoy the peace of the place or have a brunch. In the afternoon, you will ride downhill to Vico del Gargano, one of the most beautiful Italian villages, with lots of attractions: the Vico degli Innamorati (Lovers Alley), the Maratea oil mill-museum, the craft workshop and its gastronomy like the paposcia sandwich and citrus fruits: do not miss the candies you can taste here in one of the best patisseries in the Gargano. The journey continues downhill towards the sea, through the Aleppo pinewoods to reach Peschici, little and charming fisherman’s village.
The last riding day you will complete the Gargano round journey, staring at its most iconic views. This part of the coastline preserves several Trabucchi, traditional fishing machines: some of them are still used for fishing but also as locations for a memorable toast while overlooking the sea.
Before getting in Vieste in the late morning, you will have two options: take it easy and have a relaxing bath on a white limestone bay in front of a marine grotto, letting your bicycles in Vieste, or keep pedaling on one the most adventurous roads of the Gargano, the old state street connecting Vieste to Mattinata trhough the Wolf Pass where you may encounter amazing rapacious specimens.
Our advice? If you have more blanks days, we suggest you to know better the Gargano with a boat excape to the Tremiti Islands or with one of the numberous availabile activities: a cooking or tarantella dance workshop, a hike along the transhumance and pilgrimage paths, a horse ride, phishing tourism, climbing or snorkeling.
